Český Krumlov in Winter is Enchanting

    July 4, 2022 / 15 Comments

Visiting Český Krumlov in Winter is one of the best things to do when you’re in Czechia. The city is enchanting covered in a layer of snow. January 14, 2021 / 4 Comments

As for us all, 2020 was completely different than we expected. We had only one trip abroad to Austria. Other than that we stayed in The Netherlands. Luckily we made some beautiful trips in The Netherlands during the Summer. So here are our 2020 travels from month to month. January Just like in 2019 we started the New Year at friends in Almere. We played board games and watched the fireworks. Our first outing was Uden on Ice with my nieces during Christmas break. Later in the month I went shopping with a friend in Uden, while Paul and Yuri had the day for themselves. The last day of the…

Last Updated: November 6th 2024. The Dickens Festival (called Dickens festijn in Dutch) in Deventer, The Netherlands was already on my radar for years. We finally got to experience it in 2018 and loved it. It’s truly a unique experience and something for everyone looking for something spectacular around Christmas time.  Dickens Festival Deventer For 2 days Deventer turns into an 19th century English town from the stories of Charles Dickens. Want to meet Scrooge, Oliver Twist or Mr. Pickwick? It’s possible at the Dickens Christmas festival. Listen to Christmas carol singers or watch orphans moan about their lives. See a living statue or watch Queen Victoria having a tea…

    4 Winter walks in Götzens

    February 4, 2020 / 28 Comments

Last Updated: 10 February 2024. Almost every year we take a winterbreak and go to a ski destination. Not to ski, but to enjoy the snowcovered landscapes. But this time we had a bit of bad luck; Yuri got a fever and couldn’t do anything. Paul and I decided to go for short walks in the area separately. One of us stayed with Yuri and the other one explored the surroundings. After lunch we switched, and the other one followed the same route. This way we made 4 beautiful winter walks near Götzens in Austria, before Yuri felt better and could go out and explore a bit with us. Mind…
