Fun Things on Campsite Moulin de la Pique

Last Updated: May 3th 2024.

France is a beautiful country with diverse regions. One of the perfect ways to explore the large country is to go camping. We stayed at campsite Moulin de la Pique in the varied region of the Dordogne. We loved our stay here. In this blog I describe all there is to do on campsite Moulin de la Pique. The Dordogne is a region in Southwestern France.

Campsite Moulin de la Pique

A fun campground in the Dordogne with a Dutch owner, who speaks English. The campsite is on an historic estate. It’s an RCN campsite with a then Dutch and English speaking animation team from June till the end of September. The animation team is present on weekends and school holidays.

Further there’s wifi available. When we were there you had to pay for it and the coverage wasn’t that good. Now it seems you get one device for free and maybe the coverage is better.

Temporary Animations

When we visited campsite Moulin de la Pique the animation team organised several things everyday. Yuri particpated in quite a few of those things. Things being organised were movie nights, pony rides, fun2dance sessions, bouncing castle, craft, trace, sports and a pizza night. The pizza night was not only for kids, we participated as a family. We loved the pizza evening, with different families on long tables.

Yuri enjoyed himself on these special events. He loved making a pony ride for the first time on a grass field at the campground. With trace they had to find different animal sounds, fun2dance was dancing on popular kidssongs and with craft he decorated a flower pot for Mother’s day.

Regular Play Attributes

Next to the stuff the animations team organised, Yuri and us enjoyed several other things on campground Moulin de la Pique. Yuir played a lot with other kids, one of the big benefits of a campsite. He played at the several playgrounds there are on the campground. The playgrounds are spread out over the campground and have different attributes to play on.

We also played mini golf or put-put. Whenever we can play this we will do it. They had a fun course to play. During this vacation Yuri discovered ping pong and loved it.

Aquaparc

Well that’s all good, but the top thing to do for Yuri is the swimming pool and they have a beautiful one at the campground. 4 swimming pools with a crazy river, a 45 meter (148 feet) long slide. Then they have the 4-speed, a 4 double slide and the Rainbow Splash.

To show how the swimming pool looks, this the part with two slides and part of the swimming pool.

It’s an outdoor swimming pool and the first days the weather was to cold to go swimming. Luckily it got warmer and we got to enjoy the swimming pool. The swimming pool is good for hours of fun.

Other Fun Things

Outside of the above mentioned fun things to do on the campground, there’s more, which we didn’t particularly use but which however can also be fun such as a volley-ball field, a soccer field, a tennis court, jeu-de-boules track, a sports field, a recreational lake suited for fishing, treasure hunt, a play attic and kidsclub with Alex and Sammy.

To conclude campground Moulin de la Pique is a fun place to stay and you don’t need to leave the premises.

If you do want to leave, since you’re in such a beautiful region here are ideas for things to do in the Dordogne and where to eat.

The Moulin de la Pique campground looks like it has enough activities to keep families and kids engaged for days. Sounds like a fun getaway!

What a fabulous place to stay! It’s so good that they had so many activities and attractions for Yuri (is that what you meant by animations!?)

My sister lived in the Dordogne region for quite a few years, so it is always lovely to see new areas of it.

These waterslides look like so much fun, my kind of camping! Great recommendations, plenty to do for the whole family

Camping is such a fun way to travel. Saves money and allows you to get a more “slow” feel to the trip! This looks like a great camp ground and love that they had so many activities for kids!
