    October 25, 2021 / 27 Comments

Last Updated: June 19th 2025. The Netherlands is a small country in Northwestern Europe with a long history and beautiful towns and cities. A Luxurious Stay at The Van Der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk

    November 25, 2020 / 20 Comments

Last Updated: April 3rd 2025. Macarons for breakfast, a comfy bed and friendly staff is what the Van der Valk hotel Ridderkerk offers. But these aren’t the only reasons to stay at the hotel, it’s also just 17 minutes away from the world famous windmills from Kinderdijk. We enjoyed a stay at this hotel on a road trip in 2018 and loved it. This is not a sponsored post, we stayed here on our own expense. So all opinions are, as always, our own. The Room at Van Der Valk Hotel Ridderkerk Van der Valk hotel Rotterdam Ridderkerk has 7 types of rooms. We had an Atrium room, but there…

Best Cities for Shopping in The Netherlands

    April 23, 2020 / 11 Comments

Last Updated: February 26th 2025. Three to four times a year I go shopping with a friend, we pick a city somewhere in The Netherlands and arrive there by train. We started this in 2013. My son was saying to me “When are you not here?”, not because he had enough of me, but because he thought that on a day with just his dad he could have screen time all day long (luckily that didn’t come true). My friend and I have one city we go to each year, Maastricht, and then a number of cities that rotate. Next to these I have added some cities where I used…
